Liposuction

Liposuction in Turkey

The liposuction treatment involves removing extra undesirable fat from various body parts.

The areas targeted most frequently are the inner and outer thighs, knees, ankles, buttocks, arms, and abdomen.

Unlike non-surgical methods, this operation allows for the removal of a significant amount of fat (6–8 pounds) in a single session.

A vacuum is used during this cosmetic procedure to remove body fat. The fat cells eliminated in this method do not reappear.

After liposuction, you can keep the results if you don’t gain weight. Remember that liposuction is not a procedure for reducing body weight. To undergo liposuction in Turkey, you must be at your optimal weight.

How is liposuction performed in Turkey?

When you get to the hospital for the liposuction, your surgeon will explain the processes and examine the body parts you want to change.

He will mark the body parts that need surgery and go over the treatment plan. After that, general anesthesia will be used.

How your liposuction is done varies on the specific technique that is used. Based on your treatment objectives, the area of your body that has to be treated, and whether you’ve had other liposuction treatments in the past, your surgeon will choose the best approach for your liposuction in Turkey.

Types of Liposuction in Turkey

There are different techniques applied to remove excess fat through liposuction. These are traditional liposuction and vaser liposuction.

Traditional Liposuction

It is one of the most often used methods for removing fat. Traditional liposuction is also know as tumescent liposuction.

A small incision is made in the surgical area, and the adipose tissue is then injected with saltwater, epinephrine, and lidocaine to make it firm and swollen.

The surgeon can more easily suck off the fat thanks to tumescence fluid. Additionally, it results in vasoconstriction, which lowers the possibility of more significant bleeding after surgery.

The surgeon next slips a narrow tube, sometimes known as a cannula, into the fatty tissue through the incisions in order to break down the fat.

A vacuum or suction device is connected to this cannula to remove the fat. The surgeon repairs the region with dissolvable stitches.

Traditional liposuction might take as little as 30 minutes or as long as 2 hours, depending on the size of the treatment region.

Full-body liposuction, which targets the tummy, legs, buttocks, back, arms, and face, can take three to five hours.

VASER Liposuction

This operation to remove fat has another version. Anesthesia (which could be tumescent) is given before the surgeon creates tiny incisions to do a VASER liposuction.

As an ultrasonic probe is placed through them, the fatty tissue is practically liquefied and broken down. More precisely than conventional liposuction surgery, it is an ultrasound-assisted treatment.

Due to its greater focus, it more effectively protects the surrounding tissues from damage and better maintains their wellbeing.

No cannula repositioning is required on the part of the surgeon. The fat is nevertheless suctioned using a cannula and a vacuum.

The doctor then closes the wounds with stitches. Between one and two hours may pass throughout this operation.

Although this procedure typically targets the love handles (flanks), belly, and back, some patients want to undergo 360-degree liposuction instead. It might take three to four hours.

VASER Liposuction or Traditional Liposuction

When deciding between VASER lipo and standard lipo, it’s important to know the basic differences between the two:

Traditional liposuction: The traditional way to do liposuction is to make a small cut near the area to be treated and put a needle through it. Then, the surgeon uses physical force to move the fat cells, which are then sucked out of the body.

VASER lipo: In VASER-assisted liposuction, the surgeon injects a special solution into the area being treated to stop bleeding, reduce pain after surgery, and speed up the fat removal process. After that, a tube is put into the fat cells through a small cut, and the fat cells are treated with ultrasonic energy. Instead of using physical force, ultrasound energy breaks up the fat cells and turns them into a liquid. This makes it easy to suck the fat out of the body without hurting the other tissues.

Should I get VASER lipo or traditional liposuction in Turkey?

Both types of liposuction are very successful and are used often. However, some patients may be better suited to one or the other depending on their needs, goals, amount of time they have to recover, and other factors. Compared to traditional liposuction, VASER liposuction has a number of advantages for many people, such as:

  • Less puffiness
  • Less pain while getting better
  • Less time to get better
  • A little bit smaller cuts
  • Fewer risks and unwanted effects
  • Can be done without general surgery if local anesthesia is used.
  • Allows for more exact and targeted fat removal (ab etching, muscle definition, etc.).

Even with all of these great benefits, some people may still want or need standard liposuction. Most of the time, people choose standard lipo over VASER lipo for the following reasons:

  • Less time spent on each step
  • There needs to be more fat taken off.

Most of the time, traditional liposuction works best on people who have a higher BMI and/or a bigger amount of unwanted fat. VASER lipo, on the other hand, may be best for people who want to get rid of smaller areas of more fibrous fat, like the chin, neck, love handles, and legs. During your consultation for with your surgeon, he will inform you in detail about both procedures.

Recovery after Liposuction in Turkey

Every patient’s recovery time is different. But generally, most people will experience a similar recovery. A normal week-by-week liposuction recovery might look like this:

First Day

When you wake up from your surgery, you’ll be wearing a compression garment. It’s important to wear these regularly because they help reduce swelling and mold your body to its new shape. You may feel some pain and soreness in the first days. Your surgeon will have given you painkillers to help you deal with this pain, so be sure to take them as prescribed.

The first week

When you are discharged after 1 night stay at hospital, you will receive daily visits at hotel by our medical team. As soon as you arrive at your hotel, try to get as much rest as you can.  You will be transferred to the clinic for your last control.

Two weeks later

Most people can go back to work after two weeks, but if you have a physically or mentally demanding job, you may want to take more time off to fully heal. During this time, you will still have to wear your compression clothing.

Third – Fourth week

About a month after surgery, most people no longer feel pain or soreness. You might still see some growth, but that’s fine. It can take months for swelling to go away completely. At this point, you will probably also start to see effects. Remember that your results will get better as the bruises and stiffness go away.

Most people can start light exercise again after about four weeks, but they should still avoid heavy or hard activities.

Sixth week

At the six-week mark, most of the bruises and swelling should have gone away, but some people may still have some swelling.

Most likely, you won’t need your compression clothes anymore, and unless your doctor tells you otherwise, you won’t have to limit how much you do.

You should be able to see the full effects of your liposuction at this point.

Follow your surgeon’s advices and pay attention to your body to make sure your recovery goes smoothly.

After liposuction, the only scars left behind are those from the incisions made to allow the cannulas to access the fat deposits. They are only a few millimeters in size, which makes them quite little.

You have to be at least 18 years old. The best age for liposuction depends on the person, but in general, adults who are in good health and have hit a stable weight are good candidates.
