How is arm lift performed in Turkey?

Recovery After Arm Lift in Turkey

Every patient’s recovery time is different. But generally, most people will experience a similar recovery. A normal week-by-week arm lift in Turkey healing might look like this:

First Day

When you wake up from your surgery, you’ll be wearing a special garment. Use cool, not cold, compresses on the affected area for no more than 20 minutes at a time to ease any pain and minimize swelling. Never apply ice packs or crushed ice to the skin without first wrapping it in a towel.

Avoid smoking.

Relax. Avoid stressful activities at all costs.

Never extend your hands above your head. Lift no more than a paperback book’s weight.

Second Week

As each day goes by, you will witness improvement. Start your everyday activities slowly.

Most of the patients are back to their normal activities.

As recommended, take the antibiotics and vitamins. Only take muscle relaxants and painkillers if necessary.

Wear your compression or elastic wraps continuously throughout the day.

Stay out of the sun’s direct rays if you walk outside.

Keep up a balanced diet.

Avoid smoking.

Don’t drink alcohol.

2-4 Weeks

You must continue receiving the necessary treatment and healing when you resume your regular daily activities.

Keep treating your wounds as instructed.

Avoid lifting anything over your head or engaging in weight-bearing exercises. Exercises for range of motion can be started, but not with any weight, pressure, or resistance.

Avoid smoking.

Wear your compression or elastic wrap as advised.

Use appropriate sun protection. Keep your arms out of the sun’s direct rays. Your arms’ skin is particularly prone to sunburn and the development of irrational, darker pigmentation.

After 6 Weeks

Your arms will settle into a more permanent form and position as the healing process advances.

You may ease into your regular fitness routine. However, realize that your upper body may require some time to return to previous strength.

Continue healthy nutrition, fitness and sun protection.

Your scars will continue to refine. Scars are generally refined to fine incision lines one year after surgery.

Arm Lift Post-Op Instructions

  • Start walking as soon as possible.
  • You should only make limited arm movements and keep your arms up to assist reduce swelling after surgery.
  • Compression bandages should be worn for up to 6 weeks since they facilitate recovery by reducing bruising and swelling.
  • You will need at least 1 to 2 weeks to recover after surgery. Do not lift anything heavy during this time. You can resume light exercise 5 to 6 weeks after surgery.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 6 – 8 weeks after surgery. This includes activities such as upper body exercises.
  • No ocean water or pool water for 3-4 weeks post-surgery or until your wounds are fully healed.
  • For safety reasons, refrain from driving for the first week after your surgery.
