Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Ear Surgery in Turkey
Ear surgery is a kind of aesthetic procedure also known as otoplasty which is performed to correct prominent ears. Ears that come out more than 2 centimeters from the side of the head are called prominent or protruding. The goal of otoplasty is to improve the proportion and naturalness of the ears. The surgery can be done on both kids with big ears that stick out and adults whose ears have changed size because of an injury or trauma. The process entails reshaping and rearranging the cartilage in your ear for a more natural look. In many instances, stitches are used to keep the cartilage in place while the wound heals. Still, your surgeon may remove them after a few weeks or months, depending on your needs and recovery time.

Types of Ear Surgery in Turkey
1. Incisionless Otoplasty
Incisionless otoplasty corrects protruding ears. Even though different surgeries can be used to treat the prominent ears, incisionless otoplasty is one of the least invasive ones that has a faster healing time and a lower chance of complications.
2. Lop Ear Otoplasty
A medical disorder called constricted ear deformity, often referred to as lop ear deformity, causes the upper part of the ear to fold forward. A medical treatment called a “lop ear otoplasty” can fix this problem. From mild to severe, this deformity can vary. The folding upper ear can hide regular ear details, make the ears appear small, and make them “stick out” more.
3. One Ear Otoplasty
In this type, the patients will only have surgery on one ear. This method’s primary purpose is to correct an anomaly or to improve appearance. You should have one ear otoplasty if you want to change your look with one ear correction.

How is Ear Surgery performed in Turkey?
As the surgeon gets you ready for surgery, he or she will create an illustration by making some markings on your face. This will serve as a guide throughout the procedure. Then, anesthesia will be administered to you. Once anesthesia is administered, the surgeon will make small cuts behind your ears to expose the cartilage. As a result, when incisions are done on the outer part of the ear, they are neatly concealed in the ear folds’ inside. In the end, the surgeon will use dissolvable stitches to reshape and stabilize the cartilage as well as to seal the incisions.
